|
Phyllis McCormick is well known in Monroe for her more than 35 years of dance involvement. Her early training was with Margaret Nichols, Allen Russell, and the late Peg Harris. She studied ballet under the direction of Gail Grant in Toledo, Ohio. Phyllis brings to the Dance Academy over twenty years of teaching experience in both tap and ballet. She has appeared on the RRCA stage in numerous productions including 42nd Street, Anything Goes, and Chicago with the River Raisin Music Theatre Company; she has also appeared in the Nutcracker dancing the role of Clara’s mother. She owned and operated the dance apparel shop All That Jazz in Downtown Monroe for nine years. Phyllis teaches our creative movement and youth classes. She has also added a new "burn the fat" tap class to our curriculum, a non-performance class for adults which has been highly successful. |
