Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 1986, with piano as her major instrument and clarinet as her secondary instrument. After graduation, she was employed as a full-time music teacher in the public schools for twelve years, teaching instrumental and vocal music.
She earned her Master of Arts degree in Choral Music Education from Eastern Michigan University in 1999 where she graduated with honors. In 2004, Elizabeth served as an adjunct music professor at Eastern Michigan University.
In addition to teaching piano at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts, Elizabeth is employed as a musician/pianist at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Monroe, where she is in charge of music at the 11:30 am Sunday Mass, directs the Liturgical Music Ensemble, and works with cantors.
Within the past five years, Elizabeth performed as a pit orchestra pianist for fifteen local/regional Broadway productions; she also was involved in some of these shows in other capacities including rehearsal pianist, music director and/or vocal director. She annually serves as a piano accompanist for the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association's Solo and Ensemble Festivals at the district and state levels.
She plays clarinet and occasionally piano with the Monroe County Community College Band, and continues to perform at a variety of local and regional events.
