HOUSE MANAGER / EVENT COORDINATOR

Job Title: House Manager / Event Coordinator (Part-Time)
Organization: River Raisin Centre for the Arts
Compensation: $15/hour


Hours: 20–25 hours per week, some evenings and weekends required during shows

 

About Us
The River Raisin Centre for the Arts (RRCA) is a nonprofit performing arts center located in downtown Monroe. We host live performances, community events, and classes that bring the arts to thousands of patrons and students each year. We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused House Manager/Event Coordinator to join our team.

Position Summary
The House Manager/Event Coordinator oversees all front-of-house operations during performances and events to ensure an excellent guest experience. This role also assists in the coordination of events, rentals, and special programs, working closely with staff, volunteers, and patrons, and guest artists.

​

Responsibilities

  • Supervise front-of-house operations during performances and events, including lobby, concessions, ushers, and volunteers.

  • Ensure the safety, comfort, and overall positive experience of all patrons.

  • Coordinate event logistics, including setup, guest services, and communication with backstage/stage management.

  • Recruit, train, and manage ushers, concession staff, and volunteers.

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and readiness of public areas.

  • Handle patron concerns, ticketing issues, and accessibility needs with professionalism.

  • Assist with rental events, including liaising with outside groups.

  • Complete reports for attendance, concessions, and any incidents as needed.
     

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to lead a team and remain calm in high-pressure situations.

  • Highly organized with attention to detail.

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

  • Prior experience in hospitality, event coordination, or theatre operations preferred but not required.
     

Schedule & Pay

  • Part-time position, 20–25 hours per week.

  • $15/hour.

  • Evening and weekend availability required.

Our School of Music provides private lessons, group classes, and performance opportunities to students of all ages in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Vocal Coach to join our School of Music faculty. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students ranging from beginners to advanced singers, with a focus on healthy vocal technique, confidence building, and artistry.

​

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach private and/or group voice lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels

  • Provide instruction in multiple vocal styles, including classical, musical theatre, and contemporary genres

  • Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and performance opportunities

  • Develop lesson plans that emphasize vocal health, technique, and musical expression

  • Communicate effectively with students and families regarding progress and scheduling

Qualifications

  • Degree in Vocal Performance, Music Education, or related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience)

  • Prior teaching experience (private or group) strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of vocal pedagogy and repertoire

  • Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
