Our Musical Theatre program is designed for students ages 7 to 18 who are ready to take their performance skills to the next level. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your technique, this class offers a supportive, high-energy environment to explore the many facets of musical theatre.

Each weekly session provides hands-on training in:

SoPA JR

Monroe’s School of Performing Arts Junior (SoPA Jr) is a 6-class program for students ages 7–11 to develop beginning theatre skills, including stage directions, pantomime, script reading, projection, vocal warmups, props, and basic character work. The class culminates in a student demonstration of theatre games, performed during intermission of the SoPA performances on November 14th and 15th, 2026, and will run approximately 15 minutes.

There will be no class on October 24th; instead, students will participate in the downtown Trick or Treat station at the RRCA. Behind-the-scenes theatre production opportunities are also available. For more information, email lewandowski@riverraisincentre.org

FALL SoPA

Monroe’s School of Performing Arts is a 6-class program for students ages 12–18 to develop basic theatre skills. The class culminates in an original production, *This Is Not A Game*, about a regular kid who gets trapped in a video game and encounters characters from different games. The show features several musical numbers with musical theatre-style choreography.

A mandatory technical rehearsal will be held Friday, November 13th, with performances Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th, 2026. There will be no class on October 24th; instead, students will participate in the downtown Trick or Treat station at the RRCA. Behind-the-scenes theatre production opportunities are also available.
