MONROe school of the performing arts

Our Musical Theatre program is designed for students ages 12 to 18 who are ready to take their performance skills to the next level. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your technique, this class offers a supportive, high-energy environment to explore the many facets of musical theatre.

Each weekly session provides hands-on training in:

Improv Group

  • Stage presence

  • blocking, stage directions

Drama Students

  • Dialect work

  • Ensemble performance

Choir Class

  • Vocal projection

  • Diction

Mime Artists

  • Character development

  •  Storytelling

Theater Group

  • Audition prep, memorization

  • Script analysis

Monroe's School of Performing Arts is a 6 class program where students ages 7-11, and 12-18 can develop basic theatre skills. The class culminates in an original theatre production performed by the students. This performance will include several musical numbers featuring musical theatre style choreography. There will be a mandatory technical rehearsal held on Friday November 13th. The performances will be Saturday November 14th and Sunday November 15th, 2026. There will be no class on October 24th, but the students will be included in the downtown Trick or Treat station at the RRCA. Opportunities available for students wishing to learn the behind the scenes aspects of theatre production as well. Email lewandowski@riverraisincentre.org for more information.
