From the Executive Director
Dear Patrons,
The 2025/2026 season is here, and we’re starting it off with a bang! On Saturday, September 20 at 7:00 PM, we open our season with Kanin Wren’s Taylor Swift Experience—a dazzling tribute concert that promises all the energy, sparkle, and music that Swifties love. It’s the perfect kickoff to a year filled with performances and programs designed to inspire, delight, and connect our community through the arts.
This year also brings brand-new events to the River Raisin Centre for the Arts:
The Haunted Theatre Tour – discover the spooky side of our historic theatre and meet the ghostly legends that linger within our walls, on October 25, 2025.
Silver Screen Movie Nights – we’re bringing the big screen back to downtown Monroe with beloved films for the whole family: Hocus Pocus, Elf, and Tangled. Popcorn, nostalgia, and community fun all included!
Of course, this is just the beginning. The remainder of our season will feature inspiring live performances, youth theatre productions, dance, and music that reflect the incredible talent within our community and beyond. We are proud to offer programming that truly has something for everyone.
Behind the curtain, we are also working hard to grow and strengthen the RRCA. Renovations are progressing on the third floor of our Washington Street Studios, which will give our students and community even more space to learn and create. The progress is exciting, but one essential piece still needs your help: installing sprung-floors, which are critical for the safety and success of dancers and performers. This is where we look to you—our community—to join us in building a state-of-the-art space for the next generation of artists.
Education remains at the heart of our mission. We are expanding our educational programs, welcoming new students into our School of Music and Dance, and developing fresh opportunities for youth to experience the arts firsthand. At the same time, we are deepening our collaborations with local arts organizations and community partners to make the RRCA a true arts hub for Monroe—a place where creativity thrives, partnerships grow, and the arts belong to everyone.
As we step into this season together, I invite you to not only attend a show but also to imagine what’s possible when a community invests in the arts. With your support, the River Raisin Centre for the Arts will continue to be a stage for dreams, a home for education, and a cultural anchor for generations to come.
Thank you for being part of our story. I can’t wait to see you at the theatre!
Yours in the Arts,
Amber
