As we step into a new year, I find myself reflecting with so much gratitude on what an extraordinary 2025 it was for the River Raisin Centre for the Arts. This past year was filled with powerful performances, growing audiences, and a deep sense of momentum that continues to move our organization forward.
The New Year doesn’t have to be about resolutions — for us, it’s about vision. It’s about looking ahead with excitement and intention toward a season filled with creativity, collaboration, and opportunity. And 2026 is already shaping up to be one of our most exciting years yet.
An Exciting Season Ahead
Our upcoming performance season brings stories, music, and movement that we cannot wait to share with our community. This spring, we are thrilled to present Peter Pan Ballet, a magical production that will bring this beloved story to life through imaginative choreography and the artistry of our dancers.
Later in the season, the stage will come alive with Newsies, a high-energy, crowd-favorite musical that celebrates courage, youth, and the power of community. These productions represent the heart of what we do at RRCA: creating meaningful, high-quality performing arts experiences for both our artists and our audiences.
Growing Our Team, Strengthening Our Mission
This year also marks an exciting period of growth within our organization. We are proud to be expanding our leadership team with the addition of a Director of Music, strengthening our commitment to musical excellence and education across our programming. Alongside this, we’ve welcomed a new Event Coordinator, allowing us to better support performances, rentals, and community events while continuing to elevate the experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
These additions reflect our ongoing investment in building strong systems, thoughtful leadership, and a sustainable future for the arts in our region.
Looking Ahead: A New Chapter for Our Space
One of our most anticipated milestones is the continued renovation of our facility. Work on our third-floor renovation is underway, with completion planned for 2026. This transformation will expand our creative capacity and provide improved spaces to support rehearsals, classes, and performances for years to come. We’re incredibly excited about what this next chapter will offer our artists and community.
Moving Forward Together
As we begin this new year, we do so with gratitude for the artists, students, families, patrons, donors, volunteers, and supporters who make the River Raisin Centre for the Arts what it is. Your belief in our mission allows us to grow, dream, and create.
The year ahead is full of promise, and we can’t wait to share it with you — on stage, behind the scenes, and throughout our community.
Here’s to an inspiring and exciting year ahead at the RRCA.
Yours in the Arts,
Amber
