The Art of Gratitude

As we gather around the table this Thanksgiving, I’m filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Gratitude not just for the bounty of food and family, but for the incredible community that makes the River Raisin Centre for the Arts such a special place. This time of year gives us the opportunity to reflect on what we are truly thankful for, and I want to take a moment to share my heartfelt thanks to all the people who make our work possible.

To Our Patrons:

First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest thanks to our patrons. You are the heart and soul of the RRCA. Whether you attend our performances, support our events, or simply show up to cheer us on, your presence is invaluable. We cannot do this work without you. Your commitment to the arts and to our community allows us to continue providing a platform for local talent, enriching our cultural landscape, and bringing people together through the power of the performing arts. We are honored by your continued support, and it is because of you that we are able to create the meaningful experiences that touch the lives of so many.

To Our Generous Sponsors:

We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of our sponsors, whose generosity ensures that we can continue our mission and grow our impact. Your commitment to the arts and your belief in the power of creativity to transform lives make a world of difference. The financial support you provide enables us to offer performances, educational programs, and events that wouldn’t be possible without your contribution. You help us bring the arts to life in ways that are accessible and inspiring, and for that, we are truly grateful.

To Our Staff and Educators:

A special thank you goes to our amazing team of staff and educators who work tirelessly to bring the performing arts to our community. Your dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to excellence are what make the RRCA a place where both artists and audiences feel at home. The care and attention you give to each student and each project is inspiring. I am constantly in awe of your ability to bring out the best in everyone you work with, and I am so proud to be part of an organization with such incredible individuals. You make a difference every day, and your hard work does not go unnoticed.

To Our Community:

I am also filled with gratitude for the vibrant community that surrounds us. The River Raisin Centre for the Arts is not just a building—it’s a gathering place where people from all walks of life come together to create, to share, and to celebrate. We are lucky to be part of a community that values the arts and recognizes its power to bring people together, foster connection, and inspire change. Your continued support and engagement are what make the RRCA more than just an arts center—it makes it a home for creativity, expression, and shared experiences.

And Finally, My Gratitude as Executive Director:

As the Executive Director of the RRCA, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead an organization that plays such a vital role in the cultural fabric of our community. Every day, I am inspired by the talented individuals who make up this organization, and I am humbled by the trust and support we receive from our patrons, sponsors, staff, and community. There are countless moments of joy, laughter, and growth that happen here at the RRCA, and it is a privilege to be part of this journey. I look forward to the many exciting things to come, and I am incredibly thankful for each and every one of you who makes this possible.

This Thanksgiving, I encourage you all to take a moment to reflect on the abundance of gratitude we have in our community—the connections we share, the support we give one another, and the ways in which we come together to make this world a better place through the arts. We are truly blessed.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support of the River Raisin Centre for the Arts.

Wishing you and your loved ones a warm, joyful, and thankful Thanksgiving.
